Peter Bond

Peter Bond is a lifelong space and astronomy enthusiast. He has written eight books, including the award-winning "A Guide to Space", and has contributed to or acted as consultant / editor for many others. His latest book, "Distant Worlds", was published by Springer-Copernicus-Praxis in February 2007. Peter has also written hundreds of articles on space and astronomy for British and American newspapers and magazines, as well as material for the Sunday Times "Window On The Universe" CD-ROM, the Nature-IOP "Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics" and the Philips "Encyclopedia of Astronomy and Astrophysics". He appears regularly on TV and radio to comment on the latest astronomical discoveries and events. He was appointed as Space Science Advisor for the Royal Astronomical Society in 1995, and is also a consultant for the European Space Agency. He received a certificate for an "outstanding contribution" from ESA in 2005, and a Group Achievement Award from NASA in 2004. He is a Fellow of both the Royal Astronomical Society and the British Interplanetary Society. Peter lives in Cranleigh, Surrey, which is reputed to be the largest village in England.
